Vanderbilt University Medical Center
Located just southwest of downtown Nashville in the Hillsboro Village neighborhood, VUMC is one of the largest academic medical centers in the southeast with 864 licensed beds and over 1,000 residents. Two new floors are expected to be completed in April 2020, further expanding the inpatient capacity. This site serves as the source of the majority of our consults and as one of the continuity clinic locations.
The Nashville VA is located on the same campus as VUMC and is part of the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS). The Nashville location serves as tertiary referral center with patients traveling from throughout Tennessee as well as Kentucky and Georgia to be seen in the Rheumatology clinic. This site is one of the continuity clinic locations as well as the site for new patient consult clinic on Monday mornings during the first year of training.
Nashville General Hospital
Nashville General Hospital is located on the campus of Meharry Medical College. It serves an important purpose for under-insured residents in Davidson County (where Nashville is located) as well as patients with Medicaid throughout the state of TN who need access to Rheumatology care. We have a clinic on this site on Thursday afternoons as well as a new patient consult clinic on Monday afternoons during the first year of training.
Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt (MCJCHV)
MCHCHV is located on the same campus as VUMC and the VA. The current facility first opened in 2004. There are currently 267 beds with a multistory expansion underway. First year fellows attend Pediatric Rheumatology Clinicat MCHCHV on alternating Monday mornings.
