Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Center

Established in 2002, the Vanderbilt IBD Center provides comprehensive multidisciplinary research, education and patient care for the inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s and Ulcerative colitis). The center cares for over 8500 patients with IBD in Tennessee and many surrounding states.

Our clinical team is composed of physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, dieticians, pharmacists, a social worker, and a psychologist. The center provides 360° patient care including physical evaluation, psychosocial assessment, and nutrition care. The initial visit to the center is composed of a medical consultation as well as a psychologist, social work, and nutrition appointments. Subsequent visits with the nutritionist, social worker, and psychologist are recommended on a case-by-case basis.

The IBD Center also participates in multiple clinical trials for both Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative colitis.
