Dr. Barnado is an Assistant Professor and physician scientist in the Departments of Medicine and Biomedical Informatics. Dr. Barnado completed medical school at Emory followed by internal medicine residency at Duke and rheumatology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Barnado came to Vanderbilt in 2014 and completed the MSCI program. Her research focuses on how to repurpose the electronic health record to study and impact outcomes in autoimmune diseases with a focus on lupus.
