Brief Bio

I went from a small town in rural Indiana to Indiana University where I studied microbiology and gender studies. Afterwards, I stayed in the Big 10 and went to THE Ohio State for medical school. I completed my internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt University, and stayed to do a Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship. In my career I hope to practice both geriatric and palliative medicine in an academic setting, caring for ill and vulnerable patients. My husband, Andrew, and I love Nashville and are proud East Nashvillians. When not at work, we love to travel, camp, backpack, and spend time with our sweet cat, Taco. If you ever need ideas for a good trail to hike or suggestions on where to find a unique cocktail, we can help! We are thrilled to be staying at Vanderbilt for another year of training and are honored to have a place in the Geriatrics family.

Brief Bio

I hail from a country in Central Africa called Cameroon, where most of my formative years were spent and where my interest in medicine was borne. I moved to the U.S. in 2008 to follow that passion which started out as a Chemistry major at Georgia College in Milledgeville. I took a gap year to work in education serving high school dropouts and non-traditional students where my passion for teaching was confirmed. I then proceed to complete my medical education at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.  I moved to Nashville to undertake a residency in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt. I decided to stay at V.U.M.C. to embark on a Fellowship in Geriatrics to equip me with tools and knowledge to fulfill my career goals as a future cardiologist and geriatrician.  I have a passion for patient care and education, and I hope to someday run a preventive Cardiology practice while providing expertise in the care of the elder.  At my leisure, I enjoy dancing, playing soccer, volleyball, and tennis (Federer fan). I occasionally binge-watch Sci-fi T.V. shows and more recently I have taken to reading Sci-fi novels such as the BattleMage (must read) and Raven’s shadow.

Brief Bio

I am proud to have been raised in Fulton, Mississippi, where my mother personally inspired my path to medicine and where I first realized the depth of connection I felt when learning from and listening to older adults in my community. I went on to pursue my undergraduate education at Millsaps College where I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honors Distinction with a minor in Faith & Work—the latter having provided me with a foundation upon which to explore my vocational aspirations and ignited my desire to be a servant leader in my daily work. I received my medical degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine during which time I took a one-year hiatus to serve as Miss Mississippi 2013 affording me the opportunity to reach children and communities throughout my home state working predominantly to address food insecurity and advocate for access to fresh, healthy foods in food deserts throughout the state. I recently completed my training at the North Mississippi Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program. During my residency, I served on the Mississippi State Medical Association Board of Trustees for three years where I was given a platform to advocate for patients beyond the doctor’s office and into the legislative arena. I am ecstatic to get started with VUMC Geriatrics where I will strive to provide humanistic, individualized medicine and hope to pursue an Advanced Geriatric Fellowship and MPH in order to effect change across multiple care delivery settings. Singing and dancing were my first loves and continue to bring me so much joy. I cannot wait to be back in the theatre to enjoy another musical with my mother. I am also looking forward to discovering all our new favorites in Nashville with my significant other, Daniel Farlow, who recently was welcomed onboard at VUMC as well.

Brief Bio

I am originally from Southwest Virginia and attended undergraduate at Appalachian State University in North Carolina. I completed medical school back in the mountains of Tennessee and eventually returned to NC to complete my IM Residency. I have developed such a love for taking care of the older adult population and chose Vanderbilt as my new home as they also share this passion with me. I am interested in eventually teaching, but I'm excited to explore all the opportunities geriatric medicine will open. I spend much of my time outside, at the lake, visiting my family in Virginia, or binge-watching Netflix. I have a deaf boxer dog named Boo who has been my sidekick through everything!
