Research Professor of Medicine and Biomedical Engineering
Our laboratory is interested in identifying the mechanisms of neural regulation of heart rate and blood pressure in normal individuals, in patients with cardiovascular or neurological disorders, as well in astronauts during weightlessness. We apply bench-to-bedside approach that merges clinical research and basic research, merges human research and aninmal research, merges biomedical engineering and medicine. The laboratory focuses on transgenic mice as models of human disease, pharmacologic testing, tests for human autonomic function, digital signal processing and modeling of neural control of heart rate and blood pressure.
