Ankita Munjal, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). She earnedher medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, and completed her residencytraining at Georgetown University Hospital. She is a graduate of VUMC’s gastroenterology fellowship program, where she served as chief fellow in her final year of training.Her research interests include factors affecting adenoma detection rate, markers of inflammation used to monitor disease activity in IBD and long-term complications in patients requiring parenteral nutrition. Her clinicalinterests include short bowel syndrome, celiac disease, microscopic colitis and colon cancer. She is currently pursuing a master’s degreein nutrition this fall to further her ability to care for patient with complex nutritional disorders.
