Professional Bio
Bethany Scanlan, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
She received her BS in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame. After college, she went to the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and developed interests in internal medicine and academic medicine. All throughout medical school, she worked caring for her neighbor and friend who is a quadriplegic.
Dr. Scanlan completed her residency at Vanderbilt where she developed her interest in hospitalist medicine. She is very excited to join the Vanderbilt hospitalist team.
