Brian Grieb, MD, PhD
Clinical Fellow, Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Medicine
Brian was raised primarily in Louisville, Kentucky. He attended Centre College in Kentucky, where he majored in biochemistry & molecular biology and was lucky to meet his future wife Cassie. In 2007, he entered Vanderbilt’s Medical Scientist Training Program and later joined the lab of Christine Eischen, PhD. He studied the oncogenic transcription factor Myc and discovered the novel transcriptional cofactor Mtbp that enhances Myc oncogenic activity. This work inspired Brian to join the Harrison Society and seek further training in medical oncology. In June of 2014, Brian and Cassie had a daughter named Charlotte. In his free time, Brian enjoys taking Charlotte to the park and running with his dog Lousi. The whole family is excited about staying at Vanderbilt.
