Professional Bio

Bryan David Harris, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and his research is focused on healthcare epidemiology.  

During his ID fellowship Dr. Harris completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree and his research focused on evaluating methods to reduce infectious complications of mechanical ventilation. As a result of those studies, he was presented with the 2015 Trainee Award from the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA). His general interest is in keeping patients safe when admitted to the hospital and reducing the burden of hospital-acquired conditions.
