Professional Highlights

Dr. Chelsea Rick is proud to be joining the faculty within the Vanderbilt Division of Geriatric Medicine where she will focus on offering humanistic, individualized medicine to older adults primarily in the clinic, post-acute, and long-term care settings. Having been raised in Fulton, MS, where her mother personally inspired her path to medicine and helped her realize her love of learning from and listening to older adults in her community, she was passionate about Geriatric Medicine from an early age. She went on to pursue undergraduate studies at Millsaps College where she graduated with Honors Distinction in Biology with a minor in Faith and Work. She then completed medical school at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine, during which she took a one-year hiatus to serve as Miss Mississippi 2013 affording her the opportunity to reach children and communities throughout her beloved home state. Dr. Rick is board-certified in Family Medicine, having completed a residency at North MS Medical Center before coming to Nashville to pursue specialty training as a Vanderbilt Geriatric Medicine Fellow. In addition to her clinical work, she will be working with the Nashville VA as an Advanced Geriatric Fellow, pursuing her research interest in frailty, and serving as a Vanderbilt Quality Scholar while obtaining a Master of Public Health. She enjoys singing, dancing, going to the theatre, spotting cute dogs on walks, and spending time with family.
