GI Oncology
Chelsie was born and raised on a small hobby farm in Stillwater, MN. She attended Iowa State University for undergrad where she majored in Genetics and fell in love in biomedical research. She then attended the University of Wisconsin where she completed her PhD in Cellular and Molecular Pathology. There she discovered a career as a physician-scientist and knew that a dual career was right for her. She stayed at the University of Wisconsin for medical school and continued to pursue her research interests in precision medicine in GI oncology, working on tumor-immune interactions in pancreatic cancer. In her free time Chelsie enjoys spending time with her two horses, running, hiking, and enjoying local breweries. Chelsie is a member of the physician-scientist training program and is looking forward to residency, oncology fellowship, and her post-doc research at Vanderbilt.
