Professional Bio

Daniel Maselli, MD, is an Instructor in Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. He completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and joined Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2021 for advanced training in interventional endoscopy.

His clinical and research interests include endoscopic bariatric therapies, gastric motor physiology, and how the two may be studied to improve clinical effect and patient selection for treatment of obesity its comorbidities.

In addition to endoscopic bariatric therapies and interventional endoscopy, Dr. Maselli has an avid interest in medical education. He has been recognized throughout his training, including at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and the Duke University Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program, for his contributions to medical education. He hopes to continue to develop this interest and skillset for a long career in interventional endoscopy and academic gastroenterology.
