My laboratory focuses on the interaction between neural (autonomic) metabolic (renin-angiotensin, insulin) and local (adenosine, nitric oxide) involved in cardiovascular regulation. In particular, I am interested in how these interactions participate in the pathophysiology of hypertension and disorders of the autonomic nervous system. I direct the Vanderbilt Autonomic Dysfunction Center, a multidisciplinary program dedicated to applying clinical research to development novel treatment strategies.
