Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine

Professional Bio

Krista Suojanen, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

She received her BA in economics from Williams College and completed her pre-medical studies at Tufts University while working in clinical research at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Suojanen attended Columbia University for medical school and was a member of the first graduating class on the Columbia-Bassett track. The program collaborated with faculty from the School of Public Health and Business School to expose its students to some of the larger issues underlying and complicating the US health care system. This experience sparked her interest in quality and process improvement—an interest that continues to this day.

After medical school, Dr. Suojanen completed her residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and looks forward to continuing her career in medicine as a VUMC faculty member.
