Professional Highlights

Dr. Hines recently joined Vanderbilt faculty in the division of Geriatrics, with dual interests in palliative medicine and the inpatient management of acutely ill elderly adults. She is from a small town in rural Indiana and completed her Bachelor of Science at Indiana University. She completed her professional training at THE Ohio State University College of Medicine where she graduated Cum Laude. Dr. Hines completed her internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt University. She then stayed to do both a Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship as well as a Geriatric Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Hines is now on the clinician-educator track, teaching both medical students and post-graduate physician trainees how to care for those with life-limiting illnesses and advanced age. She and her husband, Andrew, are proud East Nashvillians and when not at work, love to travel, camp, backpack, and spend time with their rescue cat, Taco.
