Professional Bio

Kristin Hines, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Geriatric Medicine within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She has dual interests in palliative medicine and the inpatient management of acutely ill elderly adults.

Dr. Hines earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Indiana University, and completed her professional training at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where she graduated cum laude. She completed her internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt and stayed to do both a Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship, as well as a Geriatric Medicine Fellowship.

Dr. Hines is now on the clinician-educator track, teaching both medical students and post-graduate physician trainees how to care for those with life-limiting illnesses and advanced age.
