Professional Bio

Maliha Naseer, MBBS,is an Instructor in Medicine in the Division of Gastroentrology, Hepatology and Nutrition, and is a fellow in the advanced inflammatory bowel disease training program. Dr. Naseer born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan, and attended Aga Khan University for graduate studies. While in Pakistan, she volunteered at the World Health Organization-Emergency Humanitarian Action chapter, and closely worked with epidemiologists to design and implement infectious epidemic response system with particular interest in communicable infectious gastrointestinal disease in underserved populations. Her research interests include the emerging role of novel therapies including therapeutic endoscopy in the management of inflammatory bowel disease. Prior to joining faculty in 2021, Dr. Naseer completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at East Carolina University/Vidant Medical Center.
