Brief Bio

Matt was born in Columbia, Maryland and, after moving at a young age, spent most of his childhood in Springboro, Ohio. He attended the University of Michigan, where he received a B.S. in Microbiology. He subsequently matriculated into the MSTP at Vanderbilt University. He completed his doctoral studies with Dr. Stokes Peebles, focusing on innate lymphoid cell contributions to reactive airway disease. He is continuing his training at Vanderbilt in Internal Medicine as part of the Physician-Scientist Training Program with the goal of pursuing a career as an investigator and clinician in academia. Outside of his professional interests, Matt enjoys spending time with his fiancé Rachel and their many pets, intensely playing board games, and partaking in any and all activities involving lakes, creeks, or oceans.
