Mattie Brady's passion has always been to serve, especially those in the geriatric population. After participating in several medical mission trips to the Dominican Republic, which included working in several skilled nursing facilities, she decided to go to school to obtain her B.S.N.. After completing her degree at Appalachian State University, Mattie moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to complete the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Nurse Residency Program. Following the completion of her residency, she began her career on the Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) Unit. Over time, while working on the ACE unit, Mattie decided to pursue a master’s degree through the Vanderbilt University Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program. She is very excited for the opportunity to be a part of the Vanderbilt team, focusing on the specialized needs of the geriatric population. When away from work, she enjoys traveling, playing intramural kickball, exercising her skills as a novice foodie, and spending time with friends and family.
