Professional Bio
Merranda Holmes, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Department of Medicine. Her clinical focus is internal medicine, and she is also a pediatric hospitalist.
She received her BS in biology from Middle Tennessee State University, followed my medical school at East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine. She completed her med-peds residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Holmes is interested in serving vulnerable and complex populations, with an interest in adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and their impact on an individual’s mental health, hospital readmissions, and chronic disease progression over the course of a lifetime. The Vanderbilt Familiar Faces Program will provide her this unique opportunity. She will also continue to volunteer as a med-peds hospitalist at Mbingo Baptist Hospital in Cameroon, West Africa, where she helps train local medical residents.
