Professional Bio

Nanette E. Dendy, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

A Nashville native, she is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis and a graduate of the Internal Medicine Residency program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She practiced with the Hillsboro Medical Group at Vanderbilt from 2004-2010. Dr. Dendy moved with her family to Greenville, South Carolina, and from 2010-2020 continued the practice of primary care internal medicine with a focus on teaching. She served as the Internal Medicine Clerkship Director and as the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director for the Prisma Health/University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Greenville. Dr. Dendy was voted the Most Outstanding Faculty Member, the Most Outstanding Outpatient Faculty Member, and was awarded the Pryor Society Beacon Award at the University of South Carolina.

Dr. Dendy’s interests include preventive medicine, diabetes, and women's health. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, a Fellow in the American College of Physicians, and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Dendy is very excited to return with her family to her roots at VUMC, and to the Hillsboro Medical Group at Vanderbilt.
