Brief Bio
Nathaniel grew up in Warner Robins, Georgia and attended Georgia Tech where he majored in biomedical engineering. He then joined Vanderbilt's MD/PhD program, where he studied molecular and cellular mediators of pulmonary microvasculature mechanics in Dr. David Merryman’s laboratory. Nathaniel is a member of Vanderbilt's Harrison Society with plans to complete a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine. His scientific interests focus on understanding how microscopic mechanical forces contribute to illness in the lung. Outside of the hospital and the lab, Nathaniel enjoys spending time with his wife Melissa, who is also a member of the Harrison Society.
