Professional Bio

Nicholas Herrera, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He graduated from medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, then completed internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston before returning to the University of Alabama for his infectious disease fellowship.
Dr. Herrera serves as Medical Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital. His professional and research interests include antimicrobial stewardship, global health, and medical education.
