Brief Bio
Paul grew up in Colorado Springs, CO and attended Stanford University where he majored in Biology. After graduating, he spent two years working on hematopoietic stem cells and the bone marrow microenvironment in the lab of Dr. Irv Weissman at Stanford. In 2011, he joined the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Washington in Seattle. He completed his graduate research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in the lab of Dr. Harlan Robins, which focused on developing computational approaches to understand the adaptive immune response to vaccination and infection. Paul is delighted to be joining the Harrison Society at Vanderbilt and plans to complete a fellowship in Rheumatology where he hopes to study the mechanisms underlying autoimmunity. In his free time, Paul enjoys cooking, skiing and watching major league baseball. He and his wife, who is also a Vanderbilt resident, recently welcomed the birth of their first child in February.
