Dr. Lal is interested in esophageal disorders and their treatment. She is currently working on the role of mucosal impedance to diagnose different causes of esophagitis without the need for pH testing and the utility of calculating esophageal length to height ratio to predict the outcomes of paraesophageal hernia repair. Dr. Lal is also interested in psychomotor recovery after endoscopic sedation, specifically the ability to perform daily life activities (including driving) after propofol sedation using a driving simulator.
