Professional Highlights

Dr. Misra received her Master’s in Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh in 1996, completed her Medical residency program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) in 1999, and is board certified in Geriatrics, Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM) She has been on faculty at VUMC since 2000. Over the past two decades, her work has focused on the issues surrounding clinical care, communication surrounding serious illness and the delivery of end of life care across the continuum. Through her roles as Founder and Director of the first HPM ACGME Certified Fellowship program in TN and Associate Director for Education and Evaluation and the Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC), she has created programs at VUMC and the affiliated Veterans Administration   Medical Center, that are catalysts for curricular innovation and evaluation in medical education and academic program development. She has presented widely and published nationally in these areas.
