Professional Bio
Sunny S. Cai, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Section of Hospital Medicine within the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). Dr. Cai received her Bachelor of Science in Molecular & Cellular Biology and her Bachelor of Arts with Honors in East Asian Studies from Johns Hopkins University in 2015. She earned her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in 2019, and subsequently completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Nashville in 2022. She joined VUMC as faculty in 2022. Dr. Cai is interested in hospital medicine, as well as social determinants of health and health disparities.
