Professional Bio

Tiffany Hines, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

She completed undergraduate and medical schools in Alabama, followed by a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at Vanderbilt. Since then she has worked in private and academic primary care practice.

Dr. Hines has devoted her professional life to palliative and end of life care by serving as medical director of a large community hospice from 2007-2012 providing inpatient, home and pediatric hospice care. Since 2012, Dr. Hines has cared for patients on the Vanderbilt Medical Center palliative consult service.

In addition to palliative care consults and primary care of her own patients, Dr. Hines teaches residents in their weekly long-term continuity clinics and supervises Vanderbilt community clinic providers. Her clinical interest also includes patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Dr. Hines is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
