Professional Bio

William Serafin, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

A native Nashvillian, Dr. Serafin completed his medical degree as well as his internal medicine residency and clinical pharmacology fellowship training at Vanderbilt University. He subsequently completed additional fellowship training in allergy and immunology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School.

After pursuing 10 years of immunology and inflammation research, Dr. Serafin transitioned to the full-time practice of medicine with an emphasis on allergy, hypertension and preventive medicine. He was a founding member of the Vanderbilt Medical Group at Green Hills in 1995.
