Brief Bio

Ben grew up in the horse country of Kentucky, playing soccer with his three siblings from an early age. He graduated from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky with a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology. At Centre he met his now wife, Trinity, who works as a pediatric nurse practitioner. He then moved to Atlanta, Georgia to attend medical school at Emory. There, he and his wife co-directed Local Outreach at their church – focusing primarily on serving refugees in their resettlement to the U.S. and supporting families and children in the foster care system. He enjoys cooking with his wife, having friends (new and old!) over for dinner, running, and spending time with anyone over a good cup of coffee. In fact, he enjoys the unique tastes and the community afforded by coffee so much that he has been home roasting for a few years now. He bears a striking resemblance to his older brother and rising PGY-3 Vanderbilt internal medicine resident, J.B. Boone. He is really looking forward to being confused for a senior resident as a brand-new intern. Most of all, he is thrilled to get to know his co-residents and have them over for a meal or a cup of joe.
