Nutrition and Metabolic Disease Fellowship 


The Vanderbilt Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism participates in the Obesity Medicine Fellowship Council (OMFC) standard application process (  We invite you to submit an application for fellowship through OMFC.  Due to the manner in which we support our training, we only accept applications from US citizens or permanent residents.  If you have additional questions or wish to speak with someone about our program, please do not hesitate to contact us.  Our faculty and fellows are proud of the Division and are always happy to discuss the training program.  We look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you soon!

The following are required as part of the application:

  • Completion of at least 3 years of ACGME accredited Internal Medicine or categorical program

  • Curriculum vitae

  • Three letters of recommendation

  • If possible, include a letter from your residency program director

  • Personal goals statement (please address your long-term career goals)

  • Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination Parts I, II, III

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in completed specialty

  • Recent photo

  • TN state medical license, which must be obtained in advance of state date
