Professional Bio
Aaron Aday, MD, MSc, is a vascular medicine specialist and cardiologist in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He treats patients with a wide range of arterial, venous, and lymphatic disorders. Dr. Aday's research program focuses on the mechanisms of peripheral artery disease (PAD) development and treatment. Specific areas of interest include the role of thrombosis and antithrombotic therapy in PAD; molecular profiling of PAD and response to PAD therapies; epidemiology of PAD; and advocacy efforts to improve the care of patients with peripheral artery disease. Dr. Aday studies the roles of inflammation and lymphatic dysfunction in lipedema while also caring for patients with lipedema in my vascular medicine clinic. His research group utilizes epidemiologic cohorts, biorepositories, novel imaging modalities, and mechanistic clinical trials.
