Professional Bio
Albert Linden, MD, PhD, is a Clinical Fellow in the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
He graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, where his research work focused on the total synthesis of haouamine alkaloids in the laboratory of Richmond Sarpong. He then completed the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. His doctoral thesis was done in the laboratory of Michael Brown and Joseph Goldstein. His PhD research focused on elucidating the regulatory mechanisms governing lipogenesis and glycolysis. Using mice with inducible deletions in the SREBP and CHREBP genes, he and his colleagues determined which mRNAs were regulated by these transcription factors. The findings were published in the Journal of Lipid Research.
Prior to joining the faculty at Vanderbilt in 2022, Dr. Linden was an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center where he served on the Quality Improvement and Patient Experience committees.
