Professional Bio
Alex Emerson, MD, is an Allergy/Immunology Clinical Fellow in the Division of Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Originally from Ft. Wright, Kentucky, he went to the University of Kentucky for undergraduate and the University of Louisville for medical school. He completed Med-Peds residency at Indiana University in Indianapolis. Dr. Emerson became interested in allergy after growing up with asthma and allergies and benefiting from seeing an allergist. His decision to pursue allergy/immunology as a career was further solidified after he realized he could continue to treat adult and pediatric patients as an allergist.
He was drawn to Vanderbilt after seeing the supportive community provided by the faculty and fellows and to receive exceptional training from some of the leading experts in the field of allergy/immunology. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, baking, and spending time with his wife, son, and two pups.
