Professional Bio
Amrita Hundal, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Cellular Biology and Molecular Genetics from the University of Maryland College Park and her Doctorate of Medicine from the American University of the Caribbean. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School after beginning her training at Nassau University Medical Center. Dr. Hundal is the Chief Medical Officer of Techsensus LLC, a healthcare technology company improving care delivery and patient outcomes. In this role, she leads clinical strategy and initiatives, including physician support for Indian Health Services to enhance care access for underserved Native American populations. Dr. Hundal's research background includes biodefense vaccination development, where she collaborated with the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) and the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory on projects aimed at combating bioterrorism threats. With extensive clinical experience, Dr. Hundal has worked as a hospitalist with US Acute Care Solutions and Sound Physicians, an Intensivist with MedStar Health, and a telemedicine provider with Amwell. She is actively involved in quality improvement initiatives, serving on committees addressing workplace violence prevention and catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) reduction. Dr. Hundal has presented on diverse medical topics, including women's health issues, and co-authored a peer-reviewed publication on dermatologic side effects of targeted cancer therapies. Board-certified in Internal Medicine and licensed in multiple states, Dr. Hundal is dedicated to physician advocacy, public health, and advancing patient safety.
