Professional Bio
Ana E. Nobis, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. A dedicated advocate for workers' safety and health, she also serves as medical director of Occupational Health at VUMC. Dr. Nobis completed a residency in Preventive Medicine and Public Health at Meharry Medical College in Nashville and an Occupational and Environmental Medicine fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, where she was an Annika Rodriguez Scholar, and attended Meharry Medical College for her medical training. Influenced by her family's travels through Latin America, Dr. Nobis is passionate about occupational health at home and abroad. She holds a certificate in Global Health from Vanderbilt University and has participated in field-based research in Nicaragua, focusing on the epidemic of chronic kidney disease among young sugarcane harvesters. She is also passionate about medical education and interacts regularly with medical students and residents.
