Professional Bio
Andrew Griffin Bullock, MD, is a physician and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Bullock earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and completed residency in internal medicine at VUMC. He subsequently completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of Utah.
Dr. Bullock's primary academic interests are in the field of informatics and its application to clinical care. He previously helped to develop analytics measuring cost and outcome variation across multiple specialties in the department of surgery for Intermountain Healthcare; work that was patented and resulted in the formation of the analytics company Empiric Health. His current projects pertain to the patterns of diuretic administration in the management of acute decompensated heart failure and developing automated methods to track and provide clinical feedback for guideline directed medical therapy use in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction.
Dr. Bullock's clinical work is primarily caring for cardiology patients requiring admission to the hospital and helping to establish a hospital medicine service caring for cardiology patients.
