Professional Bio
Andrew Terker, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
He completed his MD/PhD at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) and came to Vanderbilt in 2017 for his internal medicine residency. He completed his training as a member of the Harrison Society in the Physician-Scientist Training Program and joined the faculty as a member of the Division of Nephrology in 2022.
During his time at OHSU Dr. Terker made transformative observations regarding effects of dietary potassium on the regulation of distal sodium transport. During his time at Vanderbilt he has continued to study effects of electrolyte imbalance on kidney injury and blood pressure. He is committed to identifying new approaches to help patients with chronic kidney disease and hypertension.
