Professional Bio
Ankita Sisselman, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
She earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, and completed her residency training at Georgetown University Hospital. She is a graduate of VUMC's gastroenterology fellowship program, where she served as chief fellow in her final year of training.
Dr. Sisselman's research interests include factors affecting adenoma detection rate, markers of inflammation used to monitor disease activity in IBD and long-term complications in patients requiring parenteral nutrition. Her clinical interests include short bowel syndrome, celiac disease, microscopic colitis and colon cancer. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in nutrition to further her ability to care for patient with complex nutritional disorders.
