Baryal Khan, MBBS

Housestaff

Division of Medicine Administration

PGY1

Baryal Khan
Interests

Born in Peshawar, Baryal began his career working in the healthcare system in Pakistan, gaining valuable experience in environments where resources were scarce. For the past 10 years, he has been working in both the NHS and private healthcare settings across England, honing his skills in varied and dynamic environments. With this background, he is now eager to transition to the American healthcare system, bringing his international experience into a new setting. Moving to Nashville also offers him the opportunity to get closer to his brother, a colorectal surgeon at Vanderbilt, further fueling his excitement for this next chapter. Outside of medicine, he is an aspiring carpenter, with an inventory of chisels and saws growing faster than he has fingers to spare. His biggest achievement in carpentry so far has been the construction of a timber cabin from the ground up. He was also honored to be nominated as a Justice of the Peace for England and Wales by King Charles III, an achievement he holds in high regard.
