Interests
Ben grew up in sunny Orlando, Florida. He attended Washington University in St. Louis, where he majored in biology and played division III basketball. He spent a year conducting bioinformatics research at the National Institutes of Health before attending medical school at Emory University. Outside of the hospital, Ben enjoys creative writing, baking bread, playing basketball, and following his hometown team, the Orlando Magic. He is excited to join his wife, Mary Peyton, at Vanderbilt, where she is completing a general surgery residency.
