Professional Bio
Chase J. Webber, DO, FACP, is Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medicine and Associate Professor of Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. An academic hospitalist and VUSM Master Clinical Teacher, Dr. Webber’s educational mission stands at the intersection of critical thinking and diagnostic excellence.
He serves as Associate Director for the Center for Advanced Mobile Healthcare Learning (CAMHL) at VUMC, where he leads in the areas of educational informatics, research and microlearning innovations such as the QuizTime application. He co-directs the “How Doctors Think” Clinical Reasoning Integrated Science Course (ISC) for Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and the Graduate Medical Education Medical Humanities Certificate program. His research has included multiple grant-funded educational innovations that leverage technology to capture clinical learning (the Electronic Learning Record (ELR), and Precision Education (AMA ChangeMedEd).
Dr. Webber has received numerous departmental teaching awards including the Outstanding Preceptor Inpatient Award in 2020, the Hugh J. Morgan Housestaff Teaching Award for Best Faculty Teacher (VA) in 2021, as well as the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine Immersion Teaching Award in 2023. Previous invited talks include the Thomas A. Hazinski Faculty Development Workup in 2024 and the APDIM Fall Meeting Plenary in 2023.
