Professional Bio
Chelsea Rick, DO, is an Instructor in the Division of Geriatric Medicine within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is focused on offering humanistic, individualized medicine to older adults primarily in the post-acute and long-term care settings.
Dr. Rick pursued her undergraduate studies at Millsaps College where she graduated with Honors Distinction in Biology with a minor in Faith and Work. She then completed medical school at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine, during which she took a one-year hiatus to serve as Miss Mississippi 2013, affording her the opportunity to reach children and communities throughout her beloved home state.
Dr. Rick is board-certified in Geriatric Medicine and Family Medicine, having completed a residency at North MS Medical Center before coming to Nashville to pursue specialty training as a Vanderbilt Geriatric Medicine Fellow. In addition to her clinical work, she is a VA Advanced Geriatric Fellow, with a special interest in helping frail older veterans receive care aligned with what matters most to them.
She is also a Vanderbilt Quality Scholar, receiving additional training in implementation science, clinical operations, and healthcare leadership, while obtaining a Master of Public Health.
