Professional Bio
David M. Dantzler Jr, MD, is an interventional cardiologist in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis where he double majored in biology and psychology. He earned his medical degree at Meharry Medical College, graduating with highest honors. He went on to complete his internship in Internal Medicine at Emory University, and completed the remainder of residency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center/UCLA. He returned to his home of Nashville, completing fellowships in Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology at Vanderbilt. He joined the faculty at VUMC in 2015.
Dr. Dantzler's clinical interests include the prevention and treatment of coronary artery disease, acute myocardial infarction, and he is passionate about patient education and closing of healthcare disparities.
