Professional Bio
Elizabeth Davis, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
After receiving her BS in biology from Duke University, she worked at the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism where she honed her interest in the role of genetic polymorphisms affecting susceptibility to illness, as well as response to treatment. She then attended medical school at Wright State University where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
Dr. Davis completed her internal medicine residency and hematology-oncology fellowship at the University of Michigan where she received the Kenneth Stark House Officer research award, as well as two American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) merit awards for research posters at the ASCO annual meeting.
Dr. Davis' clinical interest is the care of patients with soft tissue and bone sarcoma. Her research interests include developing novel therapeutic regimens for the treatment of sarcoma, understanding toxicities associated with sarcoma treatment, and improving patient-reported outcomes. She is an active member of ASCO, the Connective Tissue Oncology Society (CTOS), the Sarcoma Alliance for Research through Collaboration (SARC), and the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) Sarcoma Working Group.
