Professional Bio
Emily Tarvin, MD, is Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She completed both medical school and internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt, and completed the faculty scholars program at the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Northwestern. Dr. Tarvin’s major clinical interests are in integrative medicine, multidisciplinary/team-based care, and preventing functional decline during hospitalization. A member of the Society for Hospital Medicine, Dr. Tarvin attends clinically on teaching and non-teaching hospitalist services at Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital. She is a certified rehabilitation physician and attends at Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital, specializing in transplant rehabilitation, where she is involved in teaching physical medicine and rehabilitation residents. She also serves as a physician adviser in utilization management.
