Professional Bio
Emily Brown, MD, FACP, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
She attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine on a Health Professions Scholarship with the United States Navy. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. After residency, she was stationed as an internist at Naval Hospital Pensacola where she served as the Associate Director for Medical Services, Department Head of Internal Medicine and Specialty Clinics, and Senior Medical Officer for Internal Medicine. Dr. Brown is a board-certified physician in internal medicine with clinical interest in diabetes and obesity management through a whole health approach. Her other clinical interest is in high quality medical care and continuous process improvement, having earned her Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. She serves as a primary care physician at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and serves as the Medical Director for Health Plus.
