Emma Fleisher
Interests

Emma spent her childhood in the northern suburbs of Chicago with her parents and three younger siblings. She made the jump to the East Coast and Tufts University for undergrad where she studied clinical psychology and stuck around Tufts for medical school. Throughout college and medical school, Emma enjoyed volunteering with middle school and high school students as a health educator. Through this work, she developed a strong interest in adolescent and young adult health and transitions of care for young people with complex medical needs. She ultimately plans to intersect these interests and her Med-Peds training within oncology by focusing on the care of adolescents and young adult oncology patients as well as pediatric cancer survivors. Emma’s research interests include health outcomes and disparities research, and she has a special interest in employing qualitative methods. Emma is thrilled for this next chapter at Vanderbilt and is particularly excited to reconnect with her love of horseback riding while living in Nashville!
