Professional Bio
Evan Brittain, MD, MSCI, is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and has an active translational research program focused on mechanisms of pulmonary vascular disease and right heart failure.
His research broadly focuses on: 1) the role of metabolic disease in the promotion of pulmonary hypertension and right ventricular failure, 2) epidemiologic, molecular, and genetic profiling of pulmonary hypertension phenotypes, 3) use of wearable devices to monitor and promote physical activity in pulmonary hypertension and other chronic diseases.
In each of these areas Dr. Brittain has leveraged the full complement of research capacity including experimental models, human clinical trials, and large institutional databases to test hypotheses. Each of these research areas has led to grant funding, manuscript publication, and contributions to the understanding of pulmonary vascular disease.
