Professional Bio
G. Waldon Garriss, MD, is an internist and pediatrician at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) and a Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics. He joined Vanderbilt Executive Wellness and Concierge Medicine in 2023.
He received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina, completed his residency at VUMC, and a general medicine fellowship at the University of Virginia. His masters degrees include: physiology and biophysics (University of Kentucky), health evaluation sciences (University of Virginia), and a MBA and master’s in healthcare administration (Georgia State University).
Dr. Garriss is board certified to care for adults and children. From 2011 to 2022, he practiced internal medicine and pediatrics with the Wellstar Health System in his hometown of Marietta, Georgia. He is delighted to return to VUMC where, from 1999 through 2011, he served as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
